The Palmer Museum of Art
About The Palmer Museum of Art
The Palmer Museum of Art has been around for nearly 50 years, becoming the most significant academic art museum in the state of Pennsylvania. The museum serves as a crucial yet approachable "cultural resource" by facilitating events and exhibitions, such as An American Place that was held recently in January 29, 2022 through May 1, 2022. An integral artwork in their Special Exhibitions Gallery was Shallow Creek by Thomas Hart Benton.
The new Palmer Art Museum, which will give the public access to Penn State's growing collection of 10,260 works of art, is being built on the site where the Arboretum now stands on Curtin Road. It will include more instructional areas and staff members to invite scholars and welcome more visitors overall.
