About the Block Museum of Art of Northwestern University
Founded in 1980, the Block Museum of Art is first and foremost an education resource at Northwestern University. The facility, its collection and its programming is intended to be a place that brings together the community, where all feel welcome to explore art to their level of comfort.
The Block Collection contains over 6,000 items, focused primarily on prints, drawing and photographs, but now also includes videos, sculptures and installations. The collection includes two works of art by Thomas Hart Benton.
