About the The Arkell Museum
The Arkell Museum showcases American Art and Mohawk Valley history, and holds the Beech-Nut Company archives. The fine art collection includes two works by Thomas Hart Benton, and work by notable American artists including Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, and William Merritt Chase. Distinct building features include the original 1925 library and 1927 art gallery, and the modern 2007 addition.
Since its founding, the Arkell Museum has grown to over 20,000 historical objects, including Thomas Hart Benton’s New England Postmaster (1924).
