About the Johnson Museum of Art
The Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, also known as “The Johnson Museum,” is an art museum first established in 1973, located on the northwest corner of the Arts Quad on the main campus of Cornell University. The museum is known for the unique and distinctive build of its concrete façade.
The collection of the Johnson Museum consists of more than 40,000 works of art, traversing millennia and encompassing art from varied world cultures and traditions. Most notable in the collection are the holdings of Asian art, which accounts for more than 20,000 works in the gallery. The museum also includes 64 works of art by Thomas Hart Benton.
