About the Chrysler Museum of Art
With 50 galleries and a collection of over 30,000 works of art, the Chrysler Museum has come a long way from its founding. In 1933, the Museum opened to be a home for Walter P. Chrysler, Jr's collection of 10,000 works of art.
The Museum includes seven works of art by Thomas Hart Benton, including the Arts of Life in America: Unemployment, Radical Protest, Speed (1932), and Picnic (1944).
