Canton Museum of Art
About the Canton Museum of Art
The Canton Museum of Art (CMA) is well-known for its spectacular unique shows that feature notable artists from all around the world, with between 12-14 exhibitions each year focusing on American artists and artwork. CMA also offers in-museum studio art instruction in a number of mediums such as pottery and painting to persons of all ages.
The focus of the museum has never been increasing the size of its permanent collection, but instead identifying ways to bring art and experiences to the community. Nearly 33,000 square feet in size, the museum’s spaces are dedicated to classrooms, ceramic workshops, collections storage, events space, and around 10,000 square feet of display gallery space. The museum contains over 1,500 pieces of artworks including three works of art by Thomas Hart Benton.
