About the Addison Gallery of American Art
Founded in 1931, the Addison Gallery of American Art’s collection is one of the world's largest, with about 22,000 works spanning from the 18th century to the present. The museum is open and free to the public, and also includes an education arm that is dedicated to provide learning opportunities for all ages.
During a typical year, the Addison holds around twelve shows, including permanent collection installations and large traveling exhibitions, all carefully balanced to highlight various art throughout time and mediums.
